The economic reform and concomitant infrastructure boom set off major migration of construction workers from rural to urban areas. These workers have been the major contributor of India’s growth story. At the same time, they also represent the sheer neglect, which they have faced at the hands of the system. Children of these workers have borne the brunt of a callous system in the form of poor living conditions, lack of access to nutritious food, healthcare facility, education etc.

This is where KMGS is trying to make a difference to the lives of the children of these workers. The Trust runs One Ved Mandir and several Pathshalas, which offer free education, healthcare and nutrition facilities to the children of migrant labourers. More than three hundred children are enrolled in these schools.
